The Road Safety Advisory Council (RSAC) is responsible for informing the Tasmanian Government about road safety policy, community, school-based and public education programs, expenditure of the road safety levy, and oversees road safety education campaigns.
The main function of RSAC is to provide leadership in developing the Government’s road safety policy agenda and strategic alignment through recommendations on strategies and action plans and evaluation of strategy implementation, and oversight and critical assessment of proposed road safety initiatives and campaigns. RSAC makes recommendations to the Tasmanian Government but does not deliver road safety initiatives directly and is not involved in operational matters.
